Common situations:
- I can’t remember my password.
- Mom or Dad says I can’t get my phone to work. Ok, maybe you can suggest restarting the phone! Do you know your Apple ID?
- I’m trying to buy something online, but I don’t know my password to log in to buy it.
- Passwords are on tiny slips of paper throughout the desk!
Most parents understand the importance of security and passwords, but that understanding can result in fear. Fear can make them freeze from doing anything that needs to be done on their phones or computers.
- A small password book could be helpful. Below are a couple of options to look into:

- When using password books, my suggestion is to use ink for the website address, but use pencil to write the user ID, password, security questions, etc. Passwords change from time to time, so an eraser is better than scribbles.
- Do you have a Google account? Set up a Google sheet with passwords. BUT call it something ridiculous! See my video for name options.
- Share it with yourself, as an editor, and with siblings who could benefit from having access to help your parents. It’s private but helpful in times like this.
Parents have helped us through the ages. Now it’s our turn to help them.
